Remembering Nistor Coita @ MNAC Bucharest

MNAC Bucharest – Palace of Parliament Building
The National Museum of Contemporary Art invites you Thursday, March 9, to a series of discussions on the art and metamorphoses of Nistor Coita’s works, which will take place in the frame of the artist’s retrospective exhibition on the 2nd floor of the museum.
The exhibition emphasizes the virtues of drawing, as Nistor Coita (1943-2013) defined himself as a graphic artist, and not a painter, cultivating drawing as an art form that has brought him nearer to the virtues of writing, in its original meaning of pictogram, and to the late modernity of Lettrism.
Discussions will be followed by moments of evoking the artist, as he is remembered by his former colleagues and students of the Graphics Department of the Bucharest University of Arts.
Presentations will be held by Ruxandra Demetrescu, Adrian Guță, Nicolae Alexi, Stela Lie, Eugen Gustea, Carmen Apetrei, Carla Duschka and Oana Bordeanu.
This event will be held in Romanian. Entrance is free of charge. Free access and parking space, by car or taxi.
