Prezentare Demers Artistic

The protean medium in which his signs navigate is a wet one with multi-colored iridescences of the aurora borealis in perpetual movement. This medium, a strange metabolism of the pictorial image, is perceived by the onlooker between two dimensional extremes, between the game of events with live entities from the slide of the microscope and the game of hazard from the twilight of a supernova in the boundlessness of the Universe.
This way of treating the image implies the idea of an automatic dictation once promoted by the surrealists and tasists but the dosage of self-control, the proportions between the control of the gesture and its total liberty, between the precise direction and that accident of the pigmented brush, give the personal emphasis of the artist, the imprint, the autographic signature of Ioan Kett Groza.
The titles of the works are in organic accordance with the images ”Mental curves on a cloudy day”, “Galactic interferences”, “The mobility of signs”, “Flight over a thoughts nest”, “The insane sinuosity
of a soul affair”, etc.
All these belong to the works in gouaches, tempera, aquarelle, Chinese ink where the medium is more fluid. The technique of oil, by the nature of things, imposes a certain consistency of the pigmented fact that inevitably determines the nature of approaching the pictorial surfaces. The labyrinthine sinuosities pass in various directions in the compositional field but the spots of color are more precisely defined, more clearly circumscribed, and the ordered geometry makes its presence more and more felt. Triangles, circle sectors or ellipses, irregular polygons are the signs of a beginning of crystallization in the fluid and dynamic medium of Kett’s world.
The forms coagulate, clarify the limits, begin to organize on the basis of lines of force, of some discretely ordered principles. Out of the obliques and sinuosities, vertical and horizontal coordinates appear that were missing in the aquarelles. Gradually the images, the configurations of spots and signs contain more and more present directions of undecipherable writing. The texture of lines and spots becomes an osmosis between word and form. The uttering of some messages, meanings that are lost, or were obscured, melt navigating through the labyrinth of spots searching for their place..
