My research contributes to the field of cultural theory, investigating the logic of cultural transmission and particularly the fundaments of technological tradition and emphasizes the textile tradition. My experiments in fiber art are focused on revitalizing traditional textile technologies and advancing them as viable solutions for sustainable textile design and for textile design education. I consider of utmost importance revitalizing green technologies and solutions that have been tested throughout ages, technological gestures that have strengthen the link between people, artifacts and the environment. In the educational projects that I’ve been involved I helped develop methods of preserving and revitalizing the technological patrimony through online education. In my theoretical research I investigate the logic of technological tradition, following the technological stages of several types of textile technologies to discover the decisions that have contributed to the development of humanity.
I am also interested in the interdisciplinary field of smart textile, advancing ideas in my theroretical approach, aiming to develop fiber art sollutions for the new technological age.
