Miercuri, 11 februarie, ora 18.30, la Galeria Galateea Contemporary Art, va avea loc vernisajul expoziției Stâlpnici, a artistei Otilia Efros.

„…Ascetul trebuie să-și ascută voința, el a înțeles că oamenii au una și aceeași fire de aceea, pentru că unii nu se roagă deloc, el stă tot timpul în rugăciune; pentru că alții mănâncă și beau peste măsură, el postește; pentru că pofta trupului este pentru mulți izvor de otravă, el cu smerenie se păstrează într-o desăvârșită castitate. De aceea nu pot decât să mă închin în fața stâlpnicului ce stă nemișcat pe stela sa…”

Aceste cuvinte scrise in 1923 sunt la fel de actuale si in 2026 (la mai bine de un secol). De ce? Pentru că ele sunt armătura societății europene, fundația și temelia ei…zidurile s-au mai distrus, au explodat, s-au reconstruit, recompus, dar a rămas baza, religia creștină, pe care, de fiecare dată, a renăscut societatea europeană.
La Galeria Galateea (11.02 – 10.03.2026), Otilia Efros, artist vizual, absolvent master Sculptură\Ceramică la  Facultatea de Arte și Design, Universitatea de Vest, Timișoara, ne invită la expoziția „Stâlpnici” pentru a revela această bază statornică de la care designerii societății europene  pot incepe a reconstrui….

Instalația „Stâlpnici” reia figura ascetului vertical, ca formă-limită a existenței: corpul retras din lume, ridicat pe stâlp, suspendat între pământ și cer. Lucrarea nu ilustrează sfinți canonici, ci propune o tipologie a izolării asumate, a rezistenței prin nemișcare și a corporalității erodate de timp, credință și materie.

These words written in 1923 are just as relevant in 2026 (more than a century later). Why? Because they are the armature of European society, its foundation and basis… the walls have been destroyed, exploded, rebuilt, recomposed, but the base, the Christian religion, has remained, on which, each time, European society has been reborn.
At Galateea Gallery  (11.02 – 10.03.2026), Otilia Efros, visual artist, graduate of the Master’s Degree in Sculpture\Ceramics at the Faculty of Arts and Design, West University, Timișoara, invites us to the exhibition „Pillars” to reveal this stable base from which the designers of European society can begin to rebuild…

The installation “Stylite” revisits the figure of the vertical ascetic as a threshold-form of existence: a body withdrawn from the world, elevated on a column, suspended between earth and sky. Rather than depicting canonical saints, the work proposes a typology of chosen isolation—resistance through stillness and a corporeality eroded by time, belief, and matter.
