Pictura Vioricai Ghiorghita Alexandru pune in actiune mai multe tipuri ale abstractiei.Cel mai adesea se suprapune un geometrism de fond,care guverneaza ansamblul compositional,si un repertoriu de elemente informale ,la randul lor controlate de un impuls organizatoric subtext.
In etape mai vechi,suprafata impartita intr-o zona central si campuri periferice gazduia,inca in aceste spatii riguroase reminescente ale unei figuratii aflate la aceiasi distanta fata de ambitiile mimetice,cat si de sintetizmul formal ce conducea spre semn.
Aceasta strategie a situarii intre campuri problematice atat de diferite asigura imaginilor o anumita tensiune si acorda libertate demersului pictural.
Regimul decorativ al ansamblului este sustinut cromatic prin sistemul de armonizare,cu contraste locale supuse unor dominante calde sau reci niciodata transante.
In majoritate culorile sunt grizate,rupte rosurile coboara spre brunurile de pamant ,albastrurile spre griuri reci ,de verde,de violet. Un verde mai intens si mai cald ,o magenta ,un galben marcheaza cate un accent catre un perimetru definit geometric,care impune atentiei un posibil centru de lectura in alternanta cu centrele bine marcate ale compozitiei de ansamblu.
Acest joc ce contrapune discursul formal si cel cromatic,si in alt plan discursurile formal-informal,geometric-figurativ,deschide posibilitati de lectura dincolo de frumusetea pur decorativa. Cateva dinstre compozitii,construite pe o simetrie vertical (simpla sau dedublata) isi propun si promovarea vizuala a unui joc de profunzime,prin contrastul inchis-deschis,cald-rece dar pastrand regimul biodimensional nealterat.

In her paintings Viorica Ghiorghita Alexandru works with different types of abstraction. Usually, on a geometrical background which structures the composition, a repertoire of informal but organized elements is overlaid.
Her earlier works hosted reminiscences of a figuration placed halfway between mimetic ambitions and formal synthesis, the entire composition being rigorously divided into central and peripheral areas. This strategy of marking such diverse referential fields meet, tensions the images while liberating the act of painting.
The decorative regime of these images is sustained by the chromatics as well, contrasts never rupturing the surface but being local accents in a harmony of warm or cold colors. Most of the colors are mixed nuances, red hues are toned down with earth browns, blue meets cold green or violet gray. Warmer ,more intense tones of green, yellow or purple, magenta, shaped geometrically, create possible visual centers, subordinate to the structure of the whole.
These oppositions: shape/color, formal/informal, figuration/geometry can be lectured beyond the purely decorative beauty. Some compositions, build symmetrically around a vertical axis, suggest by means of dark,light, cold and warm colors a certain depth, without altering the bidimensional effect.”
