Born on December 16, 1937 at Rădăuţi (Bukovina), Romania
In 1962 graduates Nicolae Grigorescu Institute of Fine Arts in Bucharest, Romania.

1963–1983 – assistant lecturer, Nicolae Grigorescu Institute of Fine Arts, Bucharest, Romania

1984–1990 – art historian, Institute of Art History, Romanian Academy, Bucharest, Romania

1990– professor, Academy of Art / National University of Arts, Bucharest, Romania
1966 – member of the Visual Artists’ Union of Romania

2012– honorary president of the Visual Artists’ Union of Romania
