Salonul Internațional Metalul 2024 se dorește a fi o continuare a manifestărilor anterioare dedicate Artei Metalului și se va desfășura pe două secțiuni: Formele Sculpturale și Bijuterie. Expozițiile vor avea loc simultan, secțiunea Formele Sculpturale vor fi expuse la Galeria Orizont și secțiunea Bijuterie vor fi expuse la Galeria Galateea.

Salonul este deschis pentru participarea membrilor Uniunii Artiștilor Plastici din România, artiștilor profesioniști din România și străinătate, absolvenților și masteranzilor din cadrul universităților și academiilor de artă.

Termenul limită pentru depunerea aplicațiilor este 9 august 2024 ora 23:59. Selecția lucrărilor va fi realizată de un juriu specializat și va avea loc în perioada 15 – 28 august 2024. Rezultatele vor fi comunicate prin email până în data de 7 septembrie 2024.

Juriul de selecție, format din artiști profesioniști din țară și străinătate, va fi anunțat ulterior.

Expozițiile celor două secțiuni vor avea loc în perioada 16 octombrie – 11 noiembrie 2024. Vernisajul secțiunii Formele Sculpturale va avea loc miercuri, 16 octombrie 2024, ora 18:00, la Galeria Orizont.

Vernisajul secțiunii Bijuterie va avea loc marți, 22 octombrie 2024, ora 18:00, la Galeria Galateea.

The International Salon of Metal ‒ 2024, which aims to continue the previous manifestations dedicated to the Art of Metal, will be focussed in two sections: Sculptural Shapes and Jewellery.
The exhibitions will be held simultaneously: the works of the Sculptural Shapes Section will be displayed at the Orizont Gallery, and those of the Jewellery, at the Galateea Gallery.
Participation Rules Participation conditions Selection of Works The Salon can be attended by members of the Visual Artistsʼ Union of Romania, by professional artists based in Romania and abroad, by graduates and master students of universities / academies of art. For the Sculptural Shapes Section, the artists may submit at most two metal works, of which only one is selected. There are accepted works achieved by means of expression specific to the material, except those obtained via the casting technique.
The height of the work should not surpass 120 cm, and the weight, 40 kg.
The works made of several pieces should present an assembling system.
Parietal and three-dimensional works are accepted only if they fall under the participation conditions.
For the Jewellery Section, the artists may submit at most 10 (set/s or standalone) metal jewels.
The pieces can be made of metal or combinations of metal and ceramic materials, glass, (semi) precious stones and other materials. The works realized of several pieces should present an assembling system. Selection of works will be made by a specialized jury in the period August 15 ‒28, 2024.
The results will be communicated via email until September 7, 2024. The members of the jury, made up of professional artists active in Romania and abroad, will be published later on.
For registration, the artists will send, to the email address salonulmetalului@gmail.com, the following documents:
Images of the work in jpg format and 300 ppi resolution.
The background of the images should be neutral, in order to allow their clear reproduction in the catalogue.
The filled in participation form should include details of the work and a short Curriculum Vitae.
The data in the registration form will appear in the catalogue in the version edited by the author. • Artistʼs photo in jpg format and 300 ppi resolution. • Transportation of the Works Return of the Works A document certifying the payment of the 2024 membership fee (for the members of the Visual Artistsʼ Union of Romania).
The deadline for submitting the applications is August 9, 2024, 11:59 p.m., with the mention: Salonul Internațional Metalul ‒ 2024 / International Salon of Metal ‒ 2024.
The applications sent afterwards will not be taken into account.
The selected artists will pay a contribution of 150 lei for the project (catalogue, poster, promotion, protocol); the money will be deposited into the account of the Visual Artistsʼ Union of Romania, RO83BACX0000003005108002, opened at the UniCredit Bank, with the mention: Salonul Internațional Metalul ‒ 2024 / International Salon of Metal ‒ 2024.
The artists can pay the contribution in the period September 7 – October 7, 2024.
The participation fee is paid only after the work was selected. Each participant in the exhibition will receive a catalogue.

The parcels should reach the destination in the period October 6 – 11, 2024.
The Bucharest participants in the Section Sculptural Shapes can deposit their works at the Orizont Gallery (Bd. Nicolae Bălcescu, nr. 23A) in the period October 11 – 14, 2024, between 2:00 and 6:00 p.m.
The Bucharest participants in the Jewellery Section can deposit their works at the Galateea Gallery (Calea Victoriei, nr. 132) in the period October 11 – 14, 2024, between 2:00 and 6:00 p.m.
The artists who send their works with express delivery service should make sure they are packed appropriately, in order to avoid their deterioration during transportation.
The organizers do not assume any responsibility in case the works suffer damages or are lost during transportation.
The artists can insure their works individually.
The artists who want to pick their works personally from the Orizont Gallery can recover them on November 12, 2024.
The artists who want to pick their works personally from the Galateea Gallery can recover them on November 12, 2024.
The parcels belonging to the members of Unionʼs country branches will be shipped (back) in max. 30 days after the exhibition is finished.
The artists based outside Bucharest (in Romania or abroad) will support the (to & fro) expedition of the parcels.
Exhibition Development The exhibitions of the two sections will take place in the period October 16 – November 11, 2024.
The vernissage of the Sculptural Shapes Section will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., at the Orizont Gallery. The vernissage of the Jewellery Section will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., at the Galateea Gallery.
