Mihai Zaiţ are vocaţia acuarelei. Asemenea constatare se impune în chipul cel mai firesc privindu-i operele.
Delicat şi discret, Mihai Zaiţ aparţine liricilor şi evită clamările inconsistente în beneficiul unor confesiuni tandre. Acuarelele lui au intensitatea tonală a şoaptei şi bonomia unui om generos, mizează pe efectul impus de un evident sintetism al formelor distribuite în cadru şi pe impresia de suav.
Delicateţea şade bine unui liric iar fantasmele nu se pot transforma nicicând în cataclisme. Pare plăcut să călătoreşti prin acuarelele lui, deoarece ai şansa de a te întâlni cu tine însuţi în spaţiul vast al naturii,în feerice visări colorate.
Discreţia a devenit, în timp, un mod de a fi între ceilalţi, o strategie de a atrage atenţia neurmărind deloc aşa ceva. Taciturnii spun mai multe decât guralivii de ocazie. El chiar tace şi face, îşi consolidează zona creativă prin expoziţii ce nu impun insurgente schimbări de direcţie, ci prin statornicie în viziune şi stilistică.
Nevoia de a fi el însuşi s-a impus de timpuriu, încât putem vorbi de o amprentă stilistică Zaiţ, de o estetică proprie asupra acuarelei.
A izbutit în măsura în care fluiditatea şi transparenţa culorii de apă îi pot releva traiectul lui uman şi artistic constituit din valori etice şi estetice exemplare.

Mihai Zait has the vocation of watercolor painting. This observation comes naturally when you see his works.
Delicate and discreet, Mihai Zait belongs to the lyrics and avoids insubstantial rhetorical effects for gentle confessions. His watercolors have the tonal intensity of a whisper and the good nature of a generous man. They rely on the effect of an obvious synthetism of the forms within the framework and the impression of gentleness.
Delicacy fits well to a lyric and the phantasms can never change into cataclysms. It seems pleasant to wander among his watercolors, because you can have a meeting with yourself in the vast space of nature, among enchanting colored reveries.
In time discretion became a way of being among the others, a strategy of drawing attention without really wanting to. Taciturns say more than occasional talkative. He consolidates his creativity through exhibitions that do not mean great changes of direction, but enforce his style and vision.
His need to be himself started early in life, so we can speak of a stylistic touch Zait, his own esthetics in watercolor. He succeeded because the fluid and transparent watercolors can reveal his human and artistic path made of exemplary ethic and aesthetic values.
