Prezentare Demers Artistic

Born in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, in the year of 1956, Svetlana Potanga is the daughter of the actress Pelagheia Potângă. She spent her childhood with her maternal grandmother in the countryside and from there she caught love of nature and everything related to the village and to the people that are working the land.
Between the years 1976-1981, she studied painting at Plastic Arts High School from Odessa, Ukraine. She got hired as butafor at the Russian
Academic Theatre “Lasia Ucrainca” from Kiev, Ukraine.
In the year of 1989 she attended the courses of the Poligraphic Institute “Ivan Feodorov”, the speciality Graphics. She returned to Chisinau, Republic of Moldova in the year of 1990, where she got hired in different theatres, realizing scenography and posters for the shows. As well, she made book’s graphics. In 1995, she left the Republic of Moldova and repatriated with her family to Romania, where she was hired as a plastic artist at “Maria Filotti” Theatre from Braila, where she works in present day. She is a member of Romanian Artists Union, subsidiary of Braila, from 2003.
Svetlana Potanga makes graphics, portrets, landscapes in a traditional style, statis nature, decorative painting in different techniques. Her works are found in private collections in the country or abroad ( U.S.A, Germany, France, Ukraine, Russia etc.).
